Creo View MCAD

Visually collaborate on mechanical information

Introducing Creo Elements View - Video

Creo Elements/View Brochure (.pdf attached)

Most companies use a variety of tools for creating digital product design content. However, many people inside and outside the company need to view and interrogate that information, which means that high-performing, easy-to-use visualization tools are now indispensable.

creo-view-mcadLightning-fast and ultra-scalable--with an instinctive, tasked-based interface--Creo View MCAD enables you to quickly and easily visualize products and gain valuable engineering design insight. Creo View MCAD supports 3D data from all major MCAD tools, as well as drawings, images and documents from a multitude of sources, all without the need for the native authoring application. With its compact, yet accurate 3D viewable format, complex information can be quickly accessed to reduce rework and improve decision-making.  And since Creo View ECAD and Creo View MCAD both utilize the same framework, users of both Apps can perform unique functions such as cross probing between ECAD/MCAD abstractions.  Now everyone can collaborate-- whether in real-time or by using markups.

MCAD related extensions also allow you to:

  • Electronically markup Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) including the ability to approve, reject or question specific designs
  • Automatically generate PDF files for secure document reviews, as well as record annotations and watermarks without altering the actual document
  • Analyze designs for product component interferences, contacts and clearances
  • Create interactive animations of your designs to study from a functional perspective

Features and Benefits

  • Improve productivity by allowing users to easily and quickly share visual information across the enterprise
  • Visualize heterogeneous MCAD data, images, PCB designs and documents within one environment and without native authoring applications
  • Provide enhanced, model-based definitions, including annotation details, to quality, inspection and manufacturing engineers
  • Accurately measure, section and compare 3D models, and assemble parts and complex product structures
  • Collaborate on centrally organized digital product information through markups and real-time collaboration

Creo View Design Check

Verify and Track 3D Design Check Processes

Product View Validate for Model-Based Design (.pdf attached)

Creo View (formerly ProductView) allows you to immediately realize the proven performance of PTC’s industry-leading visualization solutions today while putting you on the path to achieve break-through productivity gains with Creo.

Model-Based Design is a product development methodology that is revolutionizing the way companies design and manufacture their products. By reducing or eliminating 2D drawings, the Model-Based Design process can drive down development costs, reduce product development time cycles and improve product quality.

Creo View Design Check is an optional module providing an interactive tool which is specifically designed to enhance and improve the “Design Checker” role, a critical step in a model-centric product development process.

Replacing the difficult-to-manage pen and paper methods traditionally used for checking 2D Drawings with a robust solution based around the 3D model, Creo View Design Check provides a highly effective communications medium between engineering, manufacturing and other downstream contributors.

Coupled with Creo View MCAD, this module facilitates rapid verification of the design intent captured in the 3D model through the marking of Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) by one or several design checkers, including the ability to approve, reject or question specific design elements – all by using the real-time 3D model as the single representation of the product. Throughout the process, the entire marking history is tracked and maintained with the ability to generate design check reports.

The Creo View Validate for Model-Based Design module helps Design Checkers confirm that all critical Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is present, consistent and meets standards.

Features & Benefits

  • Speed design cycles with industry’s only 3D model based design checking
  • Eliminate the time and effort required to create and verify 2D drawings
  • Ensure critical Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is present
  • Maintain electronic marking history of all design check cycles
  • Lower the barrier to adoption of a Model-Based Design methodology
  • Reduce the non-conformances that arise from inaccuracies in 2D Drawings

Creo View PDF Solutions

Enabling the review processes on PDF documents

Securely Collaborate with PDF Documents using ProductView (.pdf attached)

Easily manage the collaborative review cycle of PDF

Creo View PDF related extensions allow you to easily collaborate with your entire product development team by enabling commenting on PDF documents. The Creo View Adapter for PDF allows you to automatically generate PDF files for secure document reviews. Creo View PDF Review lets users record comments and watermarks without altering the actual document. And PDF Watermarker lets user view documents with watermarks.

All product stakeholders can review concepts and make comments inside important design and manufacturing documents such as specifications, assembly instructions, and scanned legacy drawings—without disturbing the original contents. As an integral part of the PTC Product Development System, Windchill can manage the review process for all of these PDF-based documents.

Extensions

Creo View PDF Review – Full document collaboration includes commenting, viewing and watermarking PDF files

Features & Benefits

  • Accelerate document reviews through synchronized collaboration by reviewers whenever and wherever convenient
  • Minimize errors with improved operation of extended review teams
  • Maintain data integrity using PDF documents without risking the integrity of the original document
  • Lower cost of ownership through server-based timely publishing of Microsoft Office documents into PDF format

Creo View Interface Analysis

Detect, analyze and correct errors early in the product development process

Discovering design errors early in the product development process is a fundamental requirement of any manufacturing company. While detecting clashes or interferences between components has previously been time-consuming and resource-intensive, the alternative of not doing so is worse.

Creo View Interference Analysis helps you find, understand and correct interference issues effectively and efficiently earlier in the development process, thus improving design quality, reducing costs, and accelerating time-to-market.

Features & Benefits

  • Check for different types of interferences such as physically interfering parts, parts that are in contact or parts that have a required clearance from each other
  • Conduct interference tests between groups of parts (such as HVAC vs. electrical parts) as well as automatically compute and display the interference volume.
  • Enable the automatic population and creation of component and assembly groupings on the basis of meta-data or product structure hierarchy for maximum flexibility
  • Analyze, compare, report and store interference results easily
  • Lower overhead costs by viewing and analyzing product designs without requiring CAD licenses
  • Improve product confidence and quality

Creo View Animator

High performance animation of digital mockups

To fully evaluate a design, engineers often need to understand the assembled products movement and operation. With the ability to create interactive animations of a digital mockup, engineers can view functional simulations of their product, allowing them to gain greater insight into their designs.

Creo View Animator provides the ability to easily develop and deploy animations without the need for CAD tools or special skills. By being about to validate a product design early in the development lifecycle, Creo View Animator can help reduce design cycles and design time while improving product confidence and time-to-market.

Features & Benefits

  • Animate a single part, groups of parts or large assemblies
  • Observe product designs from various perspectives, reducing the need for expensive prototypes.
  • Capture assembly motion instantly to create assembly sequences, dis-assembly sequences or maintenance operations
  • Turn around product design changes faster and shorten development cycles by evaluating functional aspects of the design
  • Manage/deploy animations within Windchill
  • Import Creo design software animations to utilize previously built simulations
